A few things to know prior to signing up:
- For safety purposes YOU MUST BE ABLE TO SWIM. During the registration process you will be asked to certify that you can swim 50 yards and tread water for 10 minutes
- You should be able to lift and carry 25 pounds over your head. You and a partner will be lifting boats from storage racks then, resting the boats on your shoulder, you will transport the boats to the dock and place the boats in the water. The boats weigh 35 - 45 pounds.
- You should be able to stand up from a low squat, as getting into and out of a boat demands this strength.
- You must be able to shift from a kneeling and sitting position to a standing position without assistance.
- You must be 14 years old or older to participate.
- You must be a member of USRowing. Joining USRowing is quick and inexpensive if you do not have a membership. Details and a link can be found on the page of each lesson type.
